Gambar kemusnahan Gempa bumi kuat gegarkan Sumatera

JAKARTA: Satu gempa bumi kuat dengan magnitud 7.9 menggegarkan Sumatera, Indonesia sebentar tadi, memusnahkan bangunan-bangunan besar dan mula mencetuskan kebakaran di Padang, demikian menurut laporan dan ahli-ahli geologi.

“Sebilangan hotel di padang telah musnah,” kata ketua amaran tsunami bagi agensi geofizik dan metereologi, Rahmat Triyono.

Bagaimanapun katanya, tiada amaran tsunami dikeluarkan.

Agensi AFP melaporkan, Pusat Amaran Tsunami Pasifik di Hawaii bagaimanapun telah mengeluarkan amaran tsunami bagi Indonesia, Malaysia, India dan Thailand, namun ia dibatalkan selepas itu.

“Sehingga sekarang, kita belum boleh menghubungi Padang, komunikasi telah terputus,” kata Triyono.

Menurut agensi tersebut dalam laman webnya, gempa tersebut berlaku pada pukul 5.16 petang waktu tempatan (6.16 petang waktu Malaysia) yang melanda kawatan laut di wilayah Sumatera Barat.

Saluran berita tempatan, Metro TV melaporkan, kebakaran berlaku di tengah serpihan bangunan di Padang yang didiami kira-kira 900,000 penduduk. Para penduduk bertempiaran lari ke jalan-jalan apabila gempa tersebut melanda.

Tidak ada sebarang laporan segera berhubung kematian atau kecederaan.

Gempa bumi itu turut dirasai di Jakarta yang terletak kira-kira 940 km dari Padang.

Sementara itu, Bernama melaporkan gempa bumi tersebut turut menyebabkan gegaran dirasai di beberapa kawasan di pantai barat Semenanjung Malaysia, menurut Jabatan Meteorologi Malaysia.

Jabatan Meteorologi sedang memantau keadaan dengan rapi.

Di sekitar Lembah Klang, orang ramai kelihatan bergegas keluar daripada pejabat dan bangunan tinggi ekoran gegaran itu.Mstar
